Wednesday we will have our X-Y-Z Luncheon. Everyone is encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to share. Tuesday we will be talking about zoo animals. June 24-28 Our letter of the week is Z-Zebra, all my friends call me Reba! Friday we will be focusing on number review. Wednesday we will be doing activities with honey, including tasting it! Thursday is opposites day: sweet/sour. Tuesday we will be talking about beehives. We will also be exploring the important job bees have and their gift of honey. June 17-21 Our letter of the week is Y-Yellowjacket, my sting makes such a racket! If Dad is not able to attend, we will take a picture of your child to give to Dad. We welcome all dads (or other male relative or friend) to come and celebrate with us. This is a special time to celebrate the men in our lives. Wednesday, June 12th, is our Father’s Day BBQ from 3-5:30 PM. Friday is Opposites Day: First/Middle/Last. Thursday we will be developing our science skills as we explore antennae. Tuesday we will be practicing our counting as we sing Ants Go Marching. ![]() We will also be learning about insects in general. It is also our Family Breakfast & PJ Day, where you are invited to join us for free breakfast until 8:15. Friday we will be creating and eating a favorite camping food, S’mores. Monday we will be talking about the letter “X” Tuesday we are exploring camping gear! Wednesday we are Goin’ on a Bear Hunt and we’re gonna catch a big one! We will be talking about this month’s community helper, the forest ranger, on Thursday. We will also be talking about camping (and experiencing through our imaginations & hands-on activities). The weather is getting hot and so are we…hot to polish off your child’s learning, in preparation for next year. Increases in parental activity at home and school translated into student learning gains in some areas of early literacy, ranging from approximately 0.21 to 0.34 standard deviations. We find that READY4K! positively affected the extent to which parents engaged in home literacy activities with their children by 0.22 to 0.34 standard deviations, as well as parental involvement at school by 0.13 to 0.19 standard deviations. The program targets the behavioral barriers to good parenting by breaking down the complexity of parenting into small steps that are easy-to-achieve and providing continuous support for an entire school year. In this study, we evaluate the effects of READY4K!, a text messaging program for parents of preschoolers designed to help them support their children’s literacy development. The few existing parenting programs that have shown promise often are not widely accessible, either due to the demands they place on parents’ time and effort or cost. ![]() Substantial systematic differences exist in children’s home learning experiences.
